Some say that 'we are the choices we make'.
Well, never has this maxim seemed so exact, now that we are finally seeing our choice, years ago, to plant Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir in the red, quartz-streaked soil of Montauto, in the last of the Tuscan Maremma, understood and recognised.
It was a counter-current and counter-intuitive choice; we favoured the long term instead of shortcuts or, worse, fashions, but it is precisely this choice that has brought us the satisfaction of seeing our Sauvignon from old vineyards 'Poggio del Crine' 2018 awarded 'Best Sauvignon in Italy' by Daniele Cernilli and, now, our 'Pinot Noir' 2021 as #vinoslow by Slow Wine.
And as we work in the cellar to bring home a 2023 that lives up to our expectations, we thank all those who believed in us and our choices in the past; and who still believe in us today.
